What is this marvellous holiday job? Anyway XFi Platinum or stick with onboard is my opinion. And don't put any money in an online bank.

Well my speakers costs a paltry £30 a few years back... so i'm guessing I won't hear the difference unless I strain my ears on my speakers? I'd be doing both gaming and listening to music, but nothing lossless.

Filing medical records at the local hospital...

I'll try and order the new kit ASAP, but I'm a bit tied up with other stuff at the moment, so I wouldn't wait for me to be the guinea pig.

    Re: Asus Vs Creative

I just can't recommend the Xonar DX for gaming and I don't see why anyone else is. As has already been mentioned it has issues with numerous games on XP and Vista, regardless of whether the games have EAX or not. The driver updates are infrequent and of poor quality - people having issues with games like Mass Effect are still waiting for a fix for the problems despite Asus's claims in their driver release notes.
