    Quick HDD question

[n00b] Looking to fit a big gfx card in my Thermaltake Lanbox and I am aware of issues with there not always being enough space.. Already got me dremmel handy and thinking I'll mount the HDD on its side in the floppy bay. Don't think theres any reason why I wouldnt want too, but just checking. Also.. something tells me to format the drive in the orientation I'm going to use it? [/n00b]

    Cheers

    Re: Quick HDD question

AFAIK it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference which way you have the drive, as long as its not at an angle like / or \,

not sure about upside-down yet, might try that on a spare drive before I condemn my PC to the knackers yard.

just make sure you screw it in so it doesn't wobble around and make noise, then fall over and knacker itself.

and in the space where your hard drive was, put a nice big fan to help cool your nice big GFX card

Upside down is fine had mine running the wrong way up in my TJ08 for a year with no issues In fact it is designed to hold one that way up!

Sweet, comfirms what I was thinking.. Didnt know you could run them upside down though! Checked with Seagate and they advise formatting in the orientation your gonna use the drive, so will do that too.

LOL Don't get me started Stevie, cut a fan shaped hole in the side this morning and regretted in ever since. *cries*
