What do i need? anything other than cable ties? got some normal non reuseable ones and got 5 akasa reusable ones. Going to sort pc out cos its a birds nest but before i order stuff from kustompcs do i need anything else?
I sometimes find twist wraps (not sure if that's the correct term!) are more useful as you can undo by hand them without having to cut them and then put a new one on every time you need to make a change.
Those cases don't actually work he just pretends
Its really just a lot of trial and error and finding places to hide cables out of the way. Some cases make it easier than others with space behind the motherboard tray or a convenient gap next to a hard drive or what ever.
Do work
Even works like this, although this is just is too far
There's no cable ties in there anymore, other than the one at the bottom of my case which comes with it.
There's no particular art to it, as has been said, a health dose of OCD, mixed with a liberal amount of boredem and a couple of hours work should see it looking nice.
Work out the minimum number of cables you need and find a reasonably hidden path from the PSU to where it plugs in.
Would be less strain and more room for the cables if mobo manufacturers used 1/2" spacers instead of the low ones. Then they wouldn't need holes in the mobo tray most of the time.
I don't know whether this is me being completely stupid (which is highly likely) but doesn't that then make the motherboard too high?
How high is too high? lol
It certainly doesn't allow you to use the i/o sheild, but I wasn't using it anyway..
The PCI slots needed a small riser to allow the screws to go in for the graphics and wireless cards and thats about it.
What can I say other than.. I was bored lol
You could design a i/o sheild to work with it I think, and yeah with extended screws it would be fine.
That said, cutting a hole in the mobo tray makes more sense lol
Yeah but when you shift it higher theres another gap on the side
Unless you cut the hole wider, and then make a metal gap plate to use, so it will cover the extended hole, and the normal hole (by flipping it round) if you get what I mean?
