    Noise Noise Noise

Noise and SFF never seem to go too well together, but recently my Sugo SG01-e has been pretty damn quiet considering.

    Quick specs: e4500, 4Gb PC6400, 3850 Pro, 2 HDDs, 2 DVDRW, XFI Pro and about 4 fans.

    I'm using the NT06 cooler.
Anyway I gave into temptation and given all the praise for the Corsair power supplies I thought i'd buy one, the HX520.
Itis more than powerful enough for my system and has stronger rails than my Hiper 580W Type-R.

However it is a damn bit louder than the Hiper. Which I don't get as the corsair is supposed to be one of the quietest PSUs around i thought!

Is there something wrong with mine, or is this pretty standard. The loud PSU is even when I'm in windows [I can hear it distinctly now whilst I type this]

    Help / Advice please

    no laughing please.

noise has significantly reduced since i turned off the wii (must of accidentally turned it on) - loads of dvds were pushed against the on button. well at least that is one thing sorted...

    back to quietness
[god knows how long the wii has been on for, poor thing]

    Only kiddin

The Wii's got a small 40mm (or is it 50mm?) fan at the rear. I had the same sort of problem, a low noise coming from somewhere. I had left the printer on

    Re: Noise Noise Noise

I think we've all done something like this, I was working on my main PC and couldnt for the life of me work out why it was making so much noise. Of course I had turned the craptop on, and forgotten about it. And since it uses a 3.2ghz power hungry, leg burning P4HT processor, it has two smallish fans that were on overtime (noisy even when the system is not under load, but when its loaded encoding xvid files, thats a different kettle of fish) spent an hour or so trying to figure it out Slapped myself afterwards

I tend to leave my PC on for a couple of days at a time, and as I only installed the PSU late Friday I so the wii must have turned on soon after that. Thought i'd leave the thread up here for your amusement

Obviously I wasn't in the best frame of mind when I posted this...
