Why not spend another £5 or so on a 640gb HDD, will be faster.

Pioneer DVD drives are quiet, quieter than the samsung anyway.

I've heard you do get a bit of bleeding on the Neovo screens at the edge, but prolly a good budget choice.

Yeh there is a little bleeding around the edges, but it is unnoticable unless the screen is completely black eg boot up.

I would say, go for a much cheaper motherboard, something like the Biostar TP45 HP? (just over £80)
Great performance, easily overclockable if you need it, got all the prots you need, if you want more, just get the next one up, for around £105
And on the RAM, have you seen this stuff?

Great value, and great performers, (micron D9 ICs)

    Just me......

Re: First custom build - Opinions?

I'll go for the bigger HDD if it's only £5 extra. And the Pioneer drive sounds get, i'll replace the sasmsung with it.

I'm just going to play it safe and go for the Corsair 4GB RAM.

I had no idea about the Neovo monitor. I'd like to avoid it now due to the bleeding.
What else is reasonable for around £140/150?
