best motherboard for Q6600 under £100? with a decent overclock too :)

Hey guys, just want to know what you think is the best motherboard is for a q6600, i'd like to overclock it to around 3.2-3.5 on air.

i'll be using an ultra 120 for cooling.

i'm getting a new 3xs system, so i want to play around with my old setup, to learn how to put things together, so i can build a monster in the future!

    Cheers

    This
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Biost...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    or this
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/DFI-L...00-SATA-II-ATX

DFI gives you a hell of a lot of overclocking options, whether you will want to play with something Like that I don't know, if you just want simple overclocking the other board might be better.

That said the DFI does allow you to use other peoples overclocking profiles so that is very handy if you are lazy

    Or this one:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Abit-...-SATA-RAID-ATX

It's fairly cheap and very easy to overclock, I run my Q6600 at 3.6Ghz 24/7 with this board and had it up to 3.9Ghz just for fun.

Which is even more surprising as ABit officially left the Motherboard market 4 days ago! Guess some distro had stock laying around.

Re: best motherboard for Q6600 under £100? with a decent overclock too :)

Thanks for the help guys, i'm getting my new system built first, then when that is made, a couple of months later i'll buy the motherboard and practice putting my system together.

This is something i really want to learn to do, i'll start off with just sticking in a new motherboard, hook everything up and get it workng, then i'll try to get my cable management better, as i destroyed the clean cabling on my last 3xs

Then i'll try to learn how to add watercooling, after that, i should be in good shape i hope

Hopefully these prices come down a little more in the coming months and i can afford a slightly better model.

One thing that freaks me out is still updating the bios, i dont want anything to do with that!
