Laptop stopped connecting to sky wireless

Hey my gf's laptop has stopped connecting to her wireless sky internet at her house... she says it just stopped randomly ... it has signal strength but just wont access the network.... i enter the password and hit enter and it just stays at assigning network address for ages and wont connect... any ideas... ive checked the firewall... turned it off ( windows) cant find a 3rd party firewall

checked the settings and cant find a problem... im not good with laptops and havent used wireless before... she has an intel wireless... would that be inbuilt or could it be a card that mite have come loose inside?

    any ideas?

Laptop wireless is pretty much always onboard, unless it's a hella old laptop in which case it may be a PCMCIA card (but that'll be sticking out of the side, so you'd know about it!). Either way if it's trying to join the network then the type of card isn't your issue. Has someone turned on MAC filtering on the router? If so you'd need to add the wireless MAC address. Otherwise... someone may have changed the password. Failing at the DHCP stage with good signal strength is most likely to be one of those (although... are you *sure* it's the correct wireless network that you're trying to join? if I have a quick look in my neighbourhood there are 4 or 5 Sky wireless neworks...
