Ram... overheating :P

Well i ordered some crucial ballistic when they were on offer and could never get them to overclock, they would die at anything over stock. I just got a OCZ XTC(memory cooler) and installed today, i now have my ram at 1000MHZ clock 5-5-5-18 timings on the first try at 1.95v which is good considering i had to have it on 1.97v to keep it stable at cas 5 timings without this cooler. I will try and get 1200mhz soon but this was just a quick test, so far im impressed with this cooler and at just 50% speed its cooled my motherboard by 17C!. I seriously recommend buying one of these coolers if you want to overclock your ram as they work well .

never knew coolers could have that effect, im in need of something to cool my ram, any links to that ocz thing you bought?

I've got one of those. Bit fiddly, and quite loud unless you turn the fans down a bit. It's pretty effective when you've got it set up.

On my mobo though, the ram slots are so near the pci-e x16 slot that it's really tough to fit my GTX260 and this fan in.

Lucky for me really, mine has a good distance from my GPU. Doesnt sound to loud at 3/4 of the speed i think, full speed was making to much whiring noise for me though.
