unable to boot from hard drive

I'm rebuilding the server and there is a problem with the machine.

It wont boot from the hard drive. it will boot from a cd and from floppy

when trying to boot from the hard drive it get stuck at the Veryifying DMI pool data stage. it just hangs there doing nothing.

i've tried reseting the bois and tried booting from cd then having that boot from the hard drive neither works

When booting the hard drive from the cd it continues to stay there it does not seam to be able to load the boot loader

update:

i've now tried updating the bios to the latest version. that did not work

i've tried removing the different drives from the controller. that didn't work

i've tried moving to a different controller. that did not work

Are you able to try a different HDD? You did try changing cables, I presume?

well i just tried it on another K8n-dl that works perfectly and it did the same thing so im thinking that its a board wide bug rather that.

Im going to ask over at 2cpu.com becuase they have much more experience with this motherboard so im sure on of them will have a workaround for this.
