Just out of interest (and I am very boared running prime right now), How long to you test for?

I used to get failures after 5 mins most of the time when it wasn't right... I know people recommend 24 hours but it does get pretty boring, especially when it's a brand new setup

OCCT Blend -1 hour
Intel Burn Test - 25 iterations
Orthos - 12 hours+
3DMark06 - 5+ iterations

I run Orthos in the evening overnight.

The most I would stress my computer would be doing some video encoding overnight and for a few hours of gaming. Hence stress testing should be for the duration of the maximum gaming or encoding session you will be thinking of doing.

I would say it depends, I'd run quick 20-30min test until I got to 3ghz then I ran some tests for 1hour 25min to check for stability.
And again when I was running temp checks, leave it running, go off and do something else.

IBT 10-20 runs.

yeah intel burn test only needs about 20 runs and that takes about 1hr to do.
