Recommend A solid Gaming Laptop £600

    Hi Guys,

Title says it all really, My mate is looking for a new laptop to take with him to uni, used for work and of course Gaming.

The Budget it £600, and that is pretty stretched as it is.

Ideally what were looking for is the best/most powerful gaming laptop within the budget.

I though this was pretty solid, Good choice?

    Thanks again guys.

Re: Recommend A solid Gaming Laptop £600

i'm in the same boat as your friend right now.

The dell studio 15 looks to be the best imo.

The stock gpu is an intel 4500MHD but you can upgrade it to a 256/512 MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 for £130/175.

Anyone got any opinions on which would be best value out of the two? Would the extra 256mb make much difference?

The ebay item says it has home premium installed. It's at the bottom of that spec box.

Looks tempting to good to be true mb.

Re: Recommend A solid Gaming Laptop £600

I wouldn't bother with the 512mb RAM for a mobility card... the 8800 GTS only needed 320mb.

I've got an Acer Aspire 6930g with a 9600m GT gpu that I got from comet for £600 a month or so ago and it's been great

No problems and can recommend it to all with great performance. Does come with a fair bit of bloatware though but that doesn't take long to clear

Re: Recommend A solid Gaming Laptop £600

Normally i'd say dell for laptops, but one of my friends has just had big problems with them, bought a laptop, it arrived, it was faulty, he returned it, replacement arrived, had the same fault, he went through 5 different laptops each with the same fault, in the end he gave up and asked for his money back...

Another has just bought a HP, and he's loving it (not sure of the exact model)
