I had a friend who's dad was still using one of those in the mid-80s, to dial into his work network from their Dragon 32K
My first modem worked on a commodore 64, you had to drill a hole in the back of an old dial type phone, and connect the wires to screw posts inside it. I used it for some BBS tpe stuf and accessed Prestel a few times.
