    2.1 speakers ~£50

Searching through old posts, the Logitech Z4s used to hold the crown at this price point but for the life of me I can't find them for less than ~£70 in stock.

So what is currently recommended in the region of £50 for 2.1 speakers used for films, music and games? Might be able to stretch a bit above £50 but preferably not by much...

    Thanks,
    Michael

Curry's digital had them in town today for £69.99. I can't quite work out if you want them for that price or less?

Well, less, really. As Jack said they've gone up a lot recently so now I'm looking for alternatives closer to £50.

The Logitech Z4 has unsatisfactory satellite speakers for my taste.

Would you buy a second hand pair of Creative Megaworks 2.1? Originally £125, 300w total RMS, excellent condition.

    Sent you a PM.

    Another question:
How important is it where the subwoofer goes? Foot space under my desk is at a bit of a premium so would it particularly matter if it were off to the side a bit, out of the way of my feet?

EDIT: dropping the sub woofer, are Creative T20s particularly good? http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-...-500205/review

Thinking about it, I might have been a bit optimistic judging the room I have for a dedicated subwoofer...

replied to your PM, those T20s are about as good as it gets for a 2.0 at that price.

Opted for the T20s in the end due to the fact I can't really house a big sub. Thanks all.

I've got a pair of the t20s, and was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality. Good enough to sound really good close up, and loud enough to be able to hear your MP3s when you're faffing in another room in the house.
