It looks like the HD5830 may have a similar power consumption to an HD4830:

    http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=142654

Here is the actual web-page for the cooler:

    http://www.silenx.com/ixtremaproheat...?sku=ixg-80ha2

Looks like an HD5890 is also in the works.

5950 is also in the works AFAIK.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: HD 5830 spotted

It looks like the HD5830 will probably be launched in the first week of Feburary at 239 USD:

    http://www.fudzilla.com/content/view/17273/1/

Also it seems that ATI is also working on a refreshed RV870:

both of which are listed on that page, but nothing officially announced on the ati site that i can find.......odd,

and if that price of $239 is straight converted to somewhere in the region of £145 give or take a few quid, it's a card i might well be intrested in as i couldnt justify a full fat card.

    Re: HD 5830 spotted

It seems the HD5830 will probably have 1280 stream processors:

    http://uk.babelfish.yahoo.com/transl...rUrl=Translate

This means the new card would have performance similar to a GTX275 or perhaps a GTX285.

It seems the card will use the same PCB as the HD5850:

You have to remember that list prices in America are usually given without local sales taxes, so you need to add 17.5% VAT == £170ish!!!

    Re: HD 5830 spotted

It would have been nice if the card had been shorter but it looks to be longer than an HD4830 or HD4850. Looks like I will have to stick with an HD5770 or whatever Nvidia comes up with if it is short enough! Around 9 inches in length would have been ideal!!

    Re: HD 5830 spotted

Am I the only one that thinks ATI have far too many graphics cards? I actually find it confusing. They have the 5450, 5550, 5570, 5670, 5750, 5770, 5830, 5850, 5870, 5970. I don't follow ATI closely so I may be ignorant on this matter but that's just not necessary at all.

Wonder how it would clock with the reduced shaders. Price seems a bit too close to the 5850 though.
