Handles the vCore which is the main target. Stock voltage varies for each and every processor, so it'll just be the default before you change anything. You probably want to load up your computer with something like prime95 (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/) to get the 100% load voltage rather than idle.
CPU-Z I have...and I was looking at prime95 last night but decided to ask first before downloading it.
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.

If you want a quick CPU load wprime's not a bad option either (it's what I tend to use), although for stability testing prime95 is probably a better option. But a 4 thread 32M wprime should give you about 20s* of full load on a 965BE, which is long enough to take some quick voltage and power-draw figures for future reference

*disclaimer: I pulled this figure out of thin air: do not trust it

I shall check this at home later as work doesn't like your link...but then the work firewall doesn't like much these days, I'm surprised that hexus isn't blocked to be honest.

No problem there ... it's happy with me looking at gaming sites but it does block any and all flash content. To be honest though the internet link is so slow these days we may as well have dial up.

    Re: A little undervolting adventure

You can use StressCPU from folding@home site - has the same load as F@H, didn't find anything better yet.

    It's here:
    http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadUtils#ntoc1

As for temps and RPM - simple SpeedFan.

Waiting anxiously for the results - seeing that my CPU is identical, we'll see who got a better sample

You just download the .tgz and extract it (if your PC doesn't know how to, get 7-Zip) to some folder and launch it from there - that's it

Now I'm a tad concerned. Under full load the CPU is running at 61° and the stock fan isn't speeding up to counteract the temperature increase.

I wonder if there is a conflict between SpeedFan and ASUS's fan management program?
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.

Does the Asus' program have some cooling profiles? Maybe the temperature is set at 65, for example, only to spin up the fans then. Then you'd have to lower it (Phenoms don't tolerate heat very well).

It does indeed have cooling profiles.
It was set to standard with full revs only coming on at 70°.

With the change of profile the temp is fairly stable at 53°
    CPU revs running at 3500
    Chassis fan at 1530.
    Core Voltage 1.356

But I have 2 chassis fans why is only one registering?

Maybe the other one is connected directly to the CPU? Or the fan/fan header don't have the RPM reporting function?

Have you tried lowering the Vcore a bit? You could shave off several degrees, I'm sure

Actually...I've just remembered I have one fan that is directly attached to the psu as I didn't have a cable extension long enough to reach the motherboard connector.

I did try a small reduction in the Vcore using an ASUS utility (which seems to be "pimped" version of SpeedFan) and yes I did get a reduction in temperature of about 2°. However, as I have been getting some stability issues since I changed my RAM settings from 9-9-9-24 to 8-8-8-24 I've decided to sort that little problem out first before seriously testing undervolting.

I'm surprised about the RAM instability though. The mobo is rated up to 2000oc (mine is 1600) and the RAM itself was designated 8-8-8-24. There is obviously something I'm not doing so I shall be hunting the net tonight on how to do this properly.
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.

You can buy extension cables, I'm sure. If your motherboard regulates the speed of 3 pin fans, then you'll be able to cut down on the noise a bit (you can buy a resistor to drop the voltage from 12V to 7V, for example)
