Just been trying to stick some Coolermaster Alu memory heatsinks (hacksawed to fit) on the MOSFETs on my P4P800 as they (were) running damn hot...
All of a sudden a pop and a spark and the screen goes blank Well no smoke at least, I thought.
Reboot - NADA - screen blank, not even a beep out of the mobo. I was going to try another gfx card in it, but if the mobo ain't even beeping at least once then my guess is the mobo is a little too well done, right??
So the age old question: Which mobo do I replace it with:
- Abit IC7-MAX3
- Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
- DFI LanParty PRO875
I'm running a Prescott @250fsb/PC4000 with Exos-Al watercooling. (don't knock the Prescott - the box is a cruncher and devours SETI work units with 1Mb L2 cache and its just that little bit cheaper than an ExpensiveEdition)
I'm tempted by the MAX3's OTES - btw, is this noisy?
However I really like Asus and constantly hear/read good stuff about the P4C800-E Deluxe
But my UV lights/fans/cables are screaming out for the LanParty! But does it perform?
Well, whaddya say?
