You could get an HD6850 1GB for around £140 to £150 which is similar in speed to a GTX460 1GB but requires much less power. You could also go for the slower GTX460 768MB for around £115 to £125 which also requires more power than an HD6850 1GB but should still be able to run off a decent 400W to 500W AFAIK.
The HD6850 1GB could be had for under £140 at launch but now it is more expensive.
Try scan today only. Budget £50 and get a decent review of the exact model you're looking into. If you look for a 450W they may be a little cheaper watts/pound.
Antec Earthwatts was one which caught my eye recently.
found this one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/500w-...plus-efficient
or this one http://www.scan.co.uk/products/450w-...ency-black-psu seems good too

anybody recommend a good cheap heatsink for the AMD Athlon II 445 3.1ghz processor?
Just on scan the s963 and hyper 212 look good value; they keep popping up on today only. Frostytech has good reviews in one place

Jury is out on this one. Note it wil be upto 80% eff. Scan seem to be overhyping these models and the reviews are very lmited.

Try and find a decent review.

Should do; they are made to a standrad size with a few exceptions.

Here is a review of the CX400W:

I have a 520w from Corsair, it is very very good...
You really don't need more than that unless you're doing some extreme overclocking on watercooling and stuff....

It apparently is unavailable on ebuyer, but look for it elsewhere... it is a very very good PSU, high quality.
