    Listen to the Moose, for he speaks word of wisdom

    Although you can shave a couple of quid off with a gigabyte motherboard http://www.ebuyer.com/product/238971
    (the msi 870-c45 is actually the 770 chipset not the 870 chipset http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=pr...1&prod_no=2129 although it's still a very good board)

    cat and others
    many thanks for all your time and effort.
    will strongly consider this,
    one question, will the psu provide enough power for the graphics card and will all the parts fit snugly into the case,
    thanks

    would this on work
    for a spec like this, 750W is just overkill. furthermore I would always go with a lower but branded PSU rather than a noname "higher rated" unit...

    (btw, I think the idle power consumption would top around 70W and the load around 100W for the above mentioned PC)

    total load 100w? i think you might be a little bit off there mate.

    using http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine

    i put load at around 280/300, so 400w psu will be fine.

    That calculator is awful. I'd agree with ehh - typical load would not be too much more than 100W.
