The good news is that updating the BIOS means my RAM now runs at the correct specified speed.
The bad news, it's ruined the stability of my overclock! Sigh

The energy efficient CPUs are certainly unexciting and just plain confusing with their lower clock speeds. No like
Realised that this was happening every time I powered off. The next time I powered on I got RAM fail and the machine wouldn't boot. Turning off the PSU and back on again and eventually the machine would start (albeit warning you that overlocking had failed - just save the same settings and exit EFI and everythings fine). Weird. Eventually pulled the battery from the board to reset, redid my overclock/settings and it powers up perfectly - every time. Looks like a hard reset of the CMOS is needed after a BIOS upgrade (i'd recently flashed). Rock solid now!
At what speed? Go to the benchmarking thread and get your name up there dan!
Either that or it's Asus living up to its new found reliability problems with P67.
Hope it does stay rock solid (heart touching) for you.

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
4.2 - modest overclock for now whilst it beds in Just done via ASUS overlock utility - I haven't tried "extreme" yet...
Even at that it's ****loads faster than my Q6600 IMHO. I feel dirty tho - i'm using the same Win7 install because it booted and 'just worked' lol
Well i've been gaming all day and no problems whatsoever - looking good The startup problem was just that and seemed to be some garbage in the CMOS I really like ASUS boards - aside from the odd glitch i've always had a good overall experience with them - although "touching" wasn't involved (nor were the police as a result).
Hi guys is this mobo any good? http://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigab...-sata-raid-atx
vengeance or dominator? i can't decide
1600 ------- 1866
i really like the dominator style but afew ppl have said to go for the vengeance as its 1.5v
Go for the lower voltage stuff.

I was just about to buy a 2600k...so thanks I guess
Does this mean I have to wait until late Feb to build my PC??
Oh.. bloody marvellous.
what happened?
Intel have found a flaw in SB motherboard's SATA controller. Expect 5-15% ish failure rate over 3 years. Product recall. No more sandy bridge for a month or two.
Everyone's just found out - us the same time as the motherboard partners and OEMs. Going to be a lot of people unhappy but at least it's getting nipped in the bud.
