Hmm yeah i cant see myself either, but what about when you want to upgrade and sell on, no one is going to want one of those motherboards and also your paying for a defective mobo... what is the benefit of an i5 2500 from a phenom 6 core?...

Faster cores; only upto four of them though so would be better in everything that uses four cores or less.
Using the parts you have now I would see how they work and see if you can survive until either SB sorts out its MOBOs or maybe Bulldozer will arrive.
What have you bought so far; curious!
Everything apart from the mobo,cpu,PSU.. see i could put the current mobo and cpu in the new case for the moment with the GPU till then but.. I WANT IT NOW.. haha
Just recieved my case and RAM now i just checked the RAM, its saying its 1.65 volts, would their be an issue with a sandy bridge if i lowered the DRAM voltage to 1.5/1.56?
Its whether the ram will run at that voltage. Its not specced to so no gaurantee.
Tell what you bought, go on.
Yeah you might be better sending it back under DSR and getting some ram that works within correct spec.
NZXT Phantom case, GTX480,4GB DDR3 corsair XMS... just debating to risk the sandybridge.. i really dont wanna wait a month lol
and yeah i will send it back just to be on the safe side
I really know what you mean when it comes to really getting your build plan together and then waiting - I did exactly that waiting for SB and 560 to come out although mainly for pricing's sake.
Can especially understand your desparation to get things running since u got so many things already (especially with that sexy beast of a case )
However I do not regret a single bit that I waited and in the long run you are building a rig which will last you for quite a while - good things come to those who wait and as irrelevant as my opinion really is I do think you should wait !
a) the SB mobo issues
b) Bulldozer so close
Hide all the new stuff in a loft and sit it out I would go as far as waiting for Bulldozer tbh - god knows if the rumours are right but I would be shocked if you wont get better bang for the buck with AMD considering they are both playing catch up with release times and will probably try to seize the moment due to SB mobo issues - it is afterall a great chance for them to really screw Intel now !
P.S. Oh and yeah - gpu prices might go down a bit as well seeing as some new things are coming out !
Okay cheers that for that info molotov, but i have found that ASUS has this RMA procedure where for the first year they will send you the replacement board before you return the one you have, so i mite just go for a sandy setup now and then do that in May...
Now to find an ASUS board that hasn't got any bugs
