Intel Mobile Sandy Bridge Core i7 vs AMD Mobile Llano quad core preview

This video is from AMD and was posted on the OcUK forums:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdPi4...layer_embedded

The AMD system used the HD6620M IGP. Considering that the desktop HD6670 uses 480 stream processors this probably indicates the quad core Llano CPU uses 480 shaders too. The mobile HD6570M uses 400 stream processors.

    Edit!!

The details of the test system are at 2 minutes and 31 seconds into the video.

I wonder how much is to do with the cpu and how much is to do with the GPU!

I reckon the reason that the intel system is laggy in the rendering and video playback is simply because the AMD IGP is better than the intel IGP. That surely doesn't necessarily mean the AMD cpu is better than the intel cpu right (i mean putting graphics to one side)?

A desktop processor with an HD 6600 series GPU combined for the APU? That would be a potent and exciting combination for OEMs and even budget gaming rigs! I was expecting another HD 6400 series GPU.

Some more info about Llano including some benchmarks with games:

It seems that Llano is smaller than a Phenom II X4.

    Edit!!

The link seems to be down ATM. This thread also has the slides:

This is interesting. Llano is only a tiny bit bigger than a sandy bridge die. Hopefully the slightly tweaked stars cores are faster than the Phenom II clock for clock and you've got a brilliant gaming/multimedia laptop.
