    Re: Hexus monthly buyers guide

    This is an excellent thread.

I am looking to put together a £300 build which can play games as well as an x-box, so graphics card and I want the Athlon II x3 so I need to shave some pounds elsewhere.

Is it just a mistake to go for a ~£40 board
and try and squeeze the case and PSU in for under £50 as some combo's on this thread allow?

    theoretical build
    x3 +stock cooling - 65
    M-Board - 40
    4gB RAM - 40
    case and psu - 50
    internal drive - 30
    DVDRW - 15

    = 240 leaving ~60 for a graphics card.

    Am I kidding myself?

Do you have a monitor, keyboard and OS ?
2nd hand that should just about be doable. It's the rest of the system that will cost.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.
