Ive updated the QPAD keyboards a bit. Havent put the MX-85 on there, think the main difference is that it offers full n-key rollover over USB. Its pretty expensive though. The MX-50 is affordable, but I just find the QPAD range a bit.... logo heavy.
For those who want to know all about the different keyswitches and how they work and the different affects they have on your typing try this link.

Really? In comparison to most other gaming keyboards i think they are pretty tasteful. The wristpad is a bit lame (i mean... why would you put 'we love gaming' on there?), il give you that but the keyboard itself is actually quite plain. Thats one of the reasons i actually bought it!
Other than the wristpad; the Q key is a QPAD Q in funny italics, there is a 'QPAD Pro Gaming Gear' sign above the arrow keys and there is a Q on the spacebar. Doesnt seem that bad to me.
here is some pics
QPAD MX-50 with Cherry MX blue looks quite ideal for my needs, I am open to the MX red standard version but feel I would prefer the blues to be honest. Only stumbling block is price, the MX blue version only seems to be available direct from QPAD for around €100 (£83).
Worth the small extra cost from the BlackWidow? I'm thinking yes...
edit: Biscuit that is indeed where I was looking. Just got to decide whether to order now or wait for my pay I dunno how long they will offer it with MX Blue though might have to bite the bullet.

Be Careful on the Internet! I ran and tackled a drive by mining attack today. It's not designed to do anything than provide fake texts (say!)
definately yes. If you go the QPAD site i think they are offering each of the different versions with your own choice of switch, is this where you are looking?

I started my own thread on keyboards but this seems to have had more replies.
I have just about decided on getting a Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 keyboard as they look really nice and get good reviews.
i`ve got a couple of questions though about layout .
Firstly do I get the full keyboard or a tenkeyless one?
I dont really do much number work but when i do I like to use a keypad. i suppose I could buy a separate one which could make doing number work easier..
Second is do I go uk iso layout or ansi?
I`ve read on another forum that ansi is much better for typing and makes for more natural useage but i`m used to iso
So what do you reckon people?
Thanks
Well, TKL vs full size completely depends on how much you use the numpad, I wouldn't even consider a full size since I never use the numpad, and it's just wasted space for me.
ANSI vs ISO, it's a personal choice in my opinion, I went ANSI since most replacement keycaps are ANSI only, and I wanted to get replacement keycaps, if you don't, and you're used to ISO and happy with it, then just go for it
Btw, good choice on the Filco
I'm currently using my old Ducky TKL with blues, which I sold to my brother, so he can have a go with my Poker with ghetto reds, finding it very hard to type since I've gotten used to reds which are so light, however the sound is very satisfying
I use a Corsair K60 (Cherry MX Red) and am loving it. Then again I don't have many points of comparison as I came from always having membrane keyboards.
Picked the K60 after looking around for various options and was swayed by its nice simple compact size without a load of macro buttons etc which I didnt need, and which would allow me to easily use my own wristwrest.
I've found it fantastic for both gaming and typing and not outrageously expensive either. If you want all the extra buttons there's the K90 too. As far as I can see its basically the K60 with non mechanical macro buttons to the left and a fullsize wristrest!
I'd love to switch to a mechanical keyboard, but I do most of my coding in the same room that the OH is doing her PhD work, so anything that produces substantial noise is a no-no. I'm using the Apple scissor-switch chiclet keyboard at the moment which is very quiet, and I quite like the very short action of the keys.
If they made a mechanical switch with the quiet, short action of a scissor-switch then I'd be willing to pay a fair bit for it!

New to mechanical keyboards here. From what I have read, MX Brown switches seem a good compromise between gaming and office use.
I was wondering if DAS Keyboards have a UK stockist? Their boards look so sweet, but the price is just
I would most definately prefer one with a numberpad for some work though.
I picked up an Ozone Strike as my new gaming keyboard last month, I haven't had a lot of use out of it as of yet but it beats my old Roccat Isku hands down! The build quallity is awesome, the key action is very responsive and feels good for gaming although Reds might be a better idea if you want something that requires a little less pressure. It's a really nice keyboard although it was expensive!
