well I tried the working Barton....same thing.

PC seems to work OK but the speaker is still giving it "siren mode"

also tried the "dead" XP1700 in my main system... and it is dead. Everything on the PC boots up....the HDD's spin (SCSI) and so does the CDrom (SCSI) but no monitor....soon as the Barton goes back in,.....good as gold. And this mobo always resets the cpu to a low figure, even without a reset cmos....so I think so far I am a nice 1700 that did 2600 down, and a small form factor PC that needs a speaker taking out of the mobo....

PC's.....you lot must just think its me....I promise, except for leaving off the fan and killing my CPU I have done nowt wrong

Even THAT shouldn't have died....the mobo should have throttled back

    gutted

Reflash the BIOS now its booting

    http://download.aopen.com.tw/downloa...Go.x=13&Go.y=9

Do it in DOS, not windows.
I think i know whats causing it (im supprised the BIOS flash worked at all after the dirty hack i had to do on it).

You wont kill it provided you take it easy. I can sort if for you anyway by now . If you get stuck, and cant figure anything out, just ring me
