Price check 2: Radeon 9800SE AIW

128MB 9800SE AIW. 256-bit memory bus, 4 pipelines - does NOT soft mod without errors (checkerboard effects). Clocks up to 420 core / 365 mem (730 DDR). Stock heatsink was removed and a 1u copper heatsink added with thermal epoxy - I think it's now too big to fit into a shuttle case but I can check if needed. 1u heatsink only made a small difference to the max clocks - but it was a fun exercise ... Also has ramsinks but these are only attached with frag tape and so can be removed. I have all leads and the remote control for this but nothing is boxed. Latest drivers and utils can be supplied on CD (I have the original disc somewhere but why bother with out of date drivers?)

    £110-£120

My mate bought one new minus the remote for £150 3 months ago and it did softmod. So id say the price above is fair as you include the remote.

Cheers iMc... I'd be very happy to sell it at the price (I'm considering upgrading to a 9800 Pro while they're still around as I don't use the AIW features even though I thought I would)

Non soft-mods generally go for £80-90, you can get a new one with 50/50 chance of softmodding for £130 (inc remote etc.)

Also you would want the original disc with it as the dvd player needs to be installed from the original disc. You can download updates, but the original disc is needed to install or update the dvd decoder.
