    Unhappy Shuttle sound

I love my shuttle but I am having more problems with it than ever before. I can play no music because although my monitor mounted speakers plug in and are clearly connected, nothing intelligible comes through. Can anyone suggest to this frustrated shuttle admirer what I might do to get the same sound functionality and enjoy my music again.

You haven't said which model you're using...

Anyways I had a similar problem not too long ago. Have you been messing with the shuttles insides recently? If so, check the cables that run to the front ports. The actual cable is a pass through, the connector on the mb end came out slightly and I was tearing my hair out until I found what it was...

Check its plugged in 100% at both ends of the cable.

    Let us know

Thanks for your response - its a shuttleX. I now have sound, but bizarrely, not through the ports that are either marked for speaker cables, nor the ones I would have expected to use. My speakers are plugged in to the front earphone port and I have also swapped the cables around at the back of my monitor - I can give no explanation as to why this should have suddenly worked, having tested all the cable connections several times before. I will do more research and find out why this was fine. As for meddling with the insides, yes, because the modem card was not functioning, even though we knew it worked in a conventional pc. Evenually, the solution that worked and got the dialup connection up and running, was to put in an older version of a modem card.
