    Question epox 8k3a processor

    I have an epox 8k3a and was wondering if anyone has put a XP 2400 in these mobo's.
    love too hear anyone's experence

    I have one and tested the following in it last night

    1.6 Duron OK
    XP 1800 OK
    XP 2600 Nope!

    My conclusion is that a bios update will allow better CPUs but only up to a certain rating, check out the Epox website to see how high a rating it will take.

    the XP 2600 has a higher fsb then the XP2400 thats why I was looking at it (XP2400 has the same as say the XP 1800

    All 2400+ use the 266FSB, apart from the mobiles I think

    have been in contact and cause the FSB is the same as th 1700 an the 2000 I can use the 2400 in it with out any problems
