Hmmm, so where does that put the soon-to-be-mine 939 socket 3500+?

Inbetween the socket 754 3400+ and the socket 939 3800+ I assume. Would have been interesting to see how close it is to the 3800+ though.

Anyone know what sort of overclock I might expect from a 939 socket Althon64 3500+?

according to the reviews in the above link, overclocking is poor due to already high running temperature.
    It is Inevitable.....

    ULTIMATE GAMING COMBO?

    AMD Athlon 64 3500 (Socket 939)
    Asus 16X DVD-ROM Drive, Model DVD-E616P1,
    Plextor PX-712A 12x4x DVDRW
Sapphire Radeon X800 XT Platinum Video Card
    ASUS A8V Deluxe WiFi MOBO
Enermax EG465AX-VE FCA 460W ATX Power Supply

Western Digital Raptor 10000RPM 74GB 8MB SATA OEM
    Kingston ValueRam HyperX 1GB PC3200
    Logitech Z Z-680 Speakers
    Creative Audigy 2 Platinum Pro

Not possible until I can get the x800xt card (either sapphire or ati ). Christmas, at this rate? Assuming it has not been discontinued.
And I may get the more basic non platinum audigy 2 and hold off with the speakers until I move house. Neighbours would not apprecieate the 680.

Hmm haven't heard alot about OCZ power supplies, tbh i would swop it with a tagan. Would rather go with well known brands than things i haven't heard alot about.

I've seen it suggested that Tagan are the manufactures of the OCZ PSU's.

Review for the OCZ Powerstream PSU. I would pick it over the Tagan any day of the week. Independently adjustable rails without any modding

If the rails are good to start with you don't need to adjust them You know it makes sense

Well, I cant say personally how good they are, but they are the next item on my shopping list. Gonna be replacing my enermax 550w which is powering a vapo system as it seems to be great reviews all round (and a lot of positive feedback on quite a few forums).

I did however have a Tagan, which was a pain in the a**. The constant ticking noise and heat issues it had meant I had 3 RMA's before I went for a complete refund.

Other good choices would be the antec truecontrol 550w or the enermax 550w/660w jobbie. used them both in the past and not one issue (except for the antec's weak 12v rail )

My Tagan has been great, I rate it above my Antec TrueBlue 480W.
