New GPU HD 7850, but Noob Question

So I finally got my HD7850, but as my old card was an AMD card (was running 12.4 drivers), do I need to re-install drivers etc.

So I finally got my HD7850, but as my old card was an AMD card (was running 12.4 drivers), do I need to re-install drivers etc.

When I replaced my 4870 with a 6870 I had to reinstall the drivers for it to work properly. I uninstalled first, that caused the windows driver to be installed, then reinstalled. It took a couple of re boots but apart from that there were no problems.

I Put new gpu in windows didnt recognise it, it tried installing drivers etc, after restart its now recognised (12.4), games seem to be working... so far.
I suppose I'm being lazy but does it matter?

The reboot is prob all that windoze needed.

Iron Sights - how have you found the 7850? I'm interested in getting one soon.

One thing I really like about windows7 is it's ability to correctly find hardware and get the drivers for it.
I've been working on a single ghost image we can use on any machine at work, and windows7 has been great for it, I've used the same image on an amd based laptop and intel i3 and c2d based desktops, it takes a couple of reboots for it to find and download all the correct drivers via the update system but that's it, I've had no bodging around uninstalling and clearing drive fragments out or going to manufacture website to find the correct drivers to down load like I would with xp
