    Largest IDE Hard Drive?

    Whats the largest avaliable atm? next month im looking to get 2 of the largest I can find and mirror them to house my vast collection of MP3's and TV eps that I want quick access to.
    I think Ive seen 400gb models about? anmything bigger out in the near future?

    I believe 400Gb is the biggest drive commercialy available. The Hitachi one.
    I am sure there will be bigger coming out soon, there is always something bigger and better just around the corner

    nah last pc mag i read was the ultimate tuning one, which led to me overclockin me 1700, to corrupt my os, and reinstalling, i dont trust anythiong in mags nemore lol, altho im happy ot try anything ppl suggest here, on a total whim like, i feel sorry with my two wee teeny 40gigs now

    Whats the difference!!! So they have to make it a bit bigger, its 1 Tb !!!

    The point is I could easlly put 4 250s in a raid and call it a tera byte drive!

    and you could fit all 4 of those drives into a 5 1/4" drive bay ?

    The failure rate on larger hard disks is a lot greater iirc so be on the watchout for reliability...or warranty

    a manageable 5.25" form factor.
    Size : 6.3 x 3.4 x 10.6 in. / 173 x 88 268 mm (LxWxH)
    It looks like it'll take more than one 5 1/4" bay

    I think ill go for the 400's. i am a little worried about failure hence the mirroring
