PC Power switch advice?

So in my long process of rebuilding my computer, I melted my 2pin power on switch plug when I was heating up the heatstrink at that end, the plug is now bent so much that it won't work anymore.

So to fix this, I guess, I need to cut this away, buy two new crimps and a 2pin plug, cut some of the sleeving off the wire, crimp the pins on the wire, put the plug on and done?

Yup. Or just solder to the switch directly.

edit: I'm assuming you mean switch (button/device you press to connect the power on signal pin for the PSU).

The switch is fine, it's the 2 pins that connect to the motherboard that need replacing.

Need a new POWER SW, I think my RESET SW is fine.

Yup you could crimp your own, though it might be easier to buy/recycle a connector with cables and splice/solder the cables.

If I remember correctly they use the same crimp ends as fans, ps the motherboard end is the "pins" (male) the cable ends are actually sockets (female)

Yeah, I thought they was the same, I tried looking on eBay, but couldn't really find anything for power switches.

If they are using the same pins as fans and sockets, then I know what am looking for.

I brought an PC testing kit from Maplins for £5 that am using for my power and reset switch for now.

Yes, They are the correct plugs for case LED's and switches.

Being a bit of a horder I usually hack them from old cases before I throw them away.
