    Unhappy Salvaged components

Got to build another PC from old parts I got laying around.

The CPU (athlon xp 1800) has a small chip on the corner of the metal die, is is now dead??

I also have to work out what parts still function, what is the bare minimum to get a vid signal,

    I think it is

    1. Mobo 2. PSU 3. CPU + Heatsink 4. Ram 5. GFX card 6. Monitor

At the mo I cannot a vid signal, I assume gfx blown.

I using laid out method on workbench, jumpin power switch.
    AMD 3200XP, A7N8X-E Deluxe, X800XT PE, 1024m DDR400, 2xWD 74gb Raptors(Raid 0), USB2 IcyBox Maxtor 80g, Audigy + 5.1 creative, ThermalTake Tsunami Dream, Antec Neopower 480w, Icemat v.1, iiyama 22" VM pro 513, Saitek X52

if its not too bad CPU should work, just will run hotter, therefore not overclock as well, if your running stock tho chances are it will be ok

id say that was about what you needed, so prolly video blown
