    BIOS settings

This is probably a really simple question to answer. I was looking at my BIOS settings and I noticed a setting for the "Graphics Aperture" which was set at 64mb. My GC is a 128mb card, so do I need to increase this aperture setting or not? (If it really is that simple to answer then yes, I am that dim )

I never knew it either... Adrian's BIOS guide is a fantastic resource.

It's useful but doesn't give a definitive answer (well, to us bears of little brain anyway). What should I set my aperture to be when I have an X800XT (256Mb) and 1024Mb of PC3200 RAM? 64Mb? 32? 128?

with that much memory to play with i'd say go with 64mb. maybe even try 32mb first and see if you get any framerate drops.

    Thanks, rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishey

What will be the benefit of dropping the aperture size? Increased memory available to running programs because the memory reservation has reduced? Have I understood correctly?

...and it will keep the GART at a reasonable size (reading from the site I linked) lol.
