    Athlon XP2600+ Overclock

Just got a new Athlon XP2600+ Barton processor yesterday. The stepping code is AQUCA and the production week is Week 36 2003. How far do you think I can overclock it? I have a Coolermaster Jet 7 cooler and an Asus A7N8X-X mobo.
    Rig1: Asus A7N8X-X | AMD Athlon XP 2600+ @ 2200Mhz | Radeon 9800 Pro | Cooler Master Jet 7 | 512MB Samsung DDR400
    Rig2: Abit NF7-S Rev 2.0 | AMD Athlon XP 2500+ | Cooler Master Aero 7+ | Skystar 2 DVB Card | 256MB Crucial DDR333

Only one way to find out..
Slowly increase the FSB (by about 5 - 10 mhz) and run a test (prime 95 hexus pifast (i like this as it almost always finds errors fast) pcmark 05 or anything else that hogs CPU time...)once it starts failing, up the voltage...

    Simple realy..

Do you think the RAM - 256MB Generic Samsung DDR400 - will limit or I still can get a good overclock?

No, it shouldn't be a limitation, an 0336 chip should be unlocked so you can just increase the multi.

Yes in fact it is unlocked. I am running it at 166*12.5 right now. Tonight I shall push it to it's limits. I would be really satisfied if I manage to get it stable at 200*12.5

I managed to get it stable at 200*11.5 without even upping the voltage. I tried 200*12.5 but Hexus Pifast was giving errors. Do you think if I increase the voltage I would solve the problem? How far is it safe to increase the voltage?

One other thing.....in the bios should I set AGP frequency to 66Mhz or leave it as it is on "Auto"?

It's pretty safe to run up to 1.8V, but keep an eye on your temperatures. If they start to go above 55C I'd knock things back a notch. I have a chip (a Tbred-A) that's been running 1.78V at 50-60C for the last year and a half and it's still rock solid, but heat + voltage does kill chips a bit more quickly than running them stock. It's a small risk, but it would be wrong of me to tell you to pump up the voltage without warning you of the potential dangers. If you can't afford to replace the chip two or three years down the line, stick to 1.7-1.75V and <50C.

Edit: 2.3 at stock volts is very good, you clearly have a nice chip

what about AGP frequency in the bios? I read that I should set it to 66Mhz....is it true? In my bios it is set to Auto by default.

I think if it's set to Auto it'll more than likely stay set to 66MHz anyway, since a 200FSB is a stock AMD speed. If you want to be sure though, then do set it to 66, it doesn't hurt to be sure!
