Cool Alienware Announces the Ultimate Half-Life 2 System

The Aurora City 17 includes the AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processor offering unprecedented performance for an extraordinary level of realism and awesome 3D graphics. When it came to deciding the choice of video subsystem, Valve specified the high performance graphics of the same ATI Radeon X800XT graphics platform. Rounding out the specifications of the limited edition system, Valve insisted on a capacious 2GB of system RAM and dual 10,000RPM SATA Raptor hard drives ensure the fastest loading times.

But my rig can almost match that, my CPU runs at stock FX-55 speeds, I've got the same GPU, I'm not sure how much advantage 2gb of RAM is going to give you over 1gb, and I'd rather have a gb I could tighten and overclock with as I please than use what they stick in (unless its better of course ), amd I've got a Raptor, just need to get another one and RAID it.

And whats with that yellow keyboard and mouse? When gaming your input devices are your arms, your legs and that bit behind your knee that doesn't have a name. I'd want a keyboard and mouse I can rely on, not something that glows in the dark - I'll stick with my Cymotion Xpress and Razor Diamondback, I think.

And my PC isn't in a vulgar yellow case. And it cost, I bet, half as much to put together. And I wont get laughed at for having more money than sense, brain cells and erm... sense.

So in short - why? Why buy that system? WHY?

I know you know Kez, so spill the beans...

Stoo...for 2800 BPS it better be more than "nice".

Same as my standard gaming system only $1800.00 US more money and my case looks better and performs a lot better (Lian Li V-1000). Alienware is for people with more money than brains. As a matter of fact I think that's their slogan. (Unless it's Dell's...hehe)

    Edit:

Yuck! They use an Abit motherboard. The ASUS A8V is much better! They also use the X800 XT, not the XT PE which is faster. Also, the RAM is low quality and the retail HSF is used. Did I say YUCK???
