    Also it's not difficult to put a heatsink on the wrong way round if you're not familiar with fitting them. This could mean that the sink isn't sitting flat and is being forced to sit marginally diagnolly.

    While the PC is turned on touch the CPU heatsink for a few seconds.

    Your body is around 37 degrees..so:

    if it feels cool the heatsink will be in its 20s, if it feels not warm not cold it will be 30s, if it feels warm/very warm it will be 40s, if it feels hot it will be 50s, if it fells uncomftable it will be 60s or 70s.

    If the heatsink is cold when high temps have been reported it could be that the heatsink is not seated correctly so not much heat transfer occurs. If after the resit hot temps are still being reported its prob the bios. Email the mobo manufactur about this.

    Could you please state your other temps to see what they are like and if there is a missreading with them.

    Hey, my temp is at 255C at 2.7 volts! So dont sweat it!

    I updated to the latest drivers, and my temperature problem is fixed, i now idle 29 (i love arctic silver) and max out 47. I knew that the layer of AS5 i put was really equal, thin and effective.

    ROFL, yea man i did mean Doom 3

    Man i was going heaps good, but i stopped playing for some time after i fell of my chair when a one of those fire throwing things leaped at me soon as i opened the door ROFL!!!!

    Doom 3 is hektic
