    my next motherboard

will be purchased on one factor:

    stability.

    stability and reliabil......2 factors.

Stability, reliability and rock solid.....3 factors.

My next Motherboard purchase will be based on 3 factors....

Stability, reliability, rocksolid dependability and additional feat....

    4 factors.

Oh you get what I mean (Spanish Inqu Mode/OFF)

I will buy a 64bit AMD set up some point this year, and it will be based not on the nth degree of 3dmark 2009

It will be based on what it does under load, under stress and the one that is most compatible with everything.

Cos everytime I think about the arse ache I had with nforce 2, and the constant help from Agent (one of my hero's of all time with Moby, Jiff and TiG) I remember the one motherboard that I never ruined.

My Gigabyte Intel chipset thingy with DUAL BIOS. Yup..dual bios. It didnt matter WHAT I did to that. I could reboot it at any point and it ALWAYS dug me out of the pooh.

So.....who thinks what BIOS and chipset is best. VIA always seem to rock in the stability stakes.

Whats cooking people. Lets face it my XP2800+ still creams most stuff, soa 64bitter is gonna tear it a new one.

I'm not interested in the nthdegree......it justneeds STUFF and lotsof it with 100% compatability.

    Cheers

    I don't have any problems with Nforce2... Mine's solid as a rock

Zakky edit: oh mate. Early nforce2 BIOS's were nightmareish. My first, an Asus A7N8X (still own it) faled to boot into Windows cos of a big overclock (my fault) so I hit the restart key on my PC and it never ever came back. Sent it to Agent who hot lfashed it for me . Then I had a Soltec Cubic, and I overclocke dthe ram to 200fsb, with the wrong latency timings (wayyyy to tight) and it died...never would reboot....sent it to Agent ....then I got an Aopen EZ (still own it) and apart from the factthat the sound card was screaming white noise at me and I just got a cheapo PCI soundcard instead of RMA'ing it and being without for a month!! it has a funky jukebox setting, where when its booting you hit an F key and BIOSjust opens a media player centre and uses the hdd files to run music for you....and guess what? first time I hit that key, it died, and I had to send it to Agent to hot flash it for me. So all in all, I have had zero luck and owe Agent everything I own!

    Av8

Abit AV8 3rd Eye S939 Athlon 64. This seem's a good versatile choice at under 80 pounds and Abit have a good rep for stable mob's.

Ive got an AV8 3rd eye, comes with lots of goodies to help you overclock etc

Not had any problems as of yet, as long as you get a 90nm supported board otherwise a winny wont boot with it!
