    Good overclock?

    I have a

    AMD 64 754 3000 @ 225*10=2250 Mhz
    Crosair Value Ram(2T, 3 3 3 8) @ 225*2 = 450Mhz at 1t, 2.5 3 3 10
    Chaintech Vnf3-250
Stock cooler in Antec Sonata with 7v 120mm fan at the back.
    Every Thing on stock voltage
MEMtest 86 stable; prime 95 6 hrs stable.

    Idle 39, Load 48

    1) So is this a good o/c?
    2) Will it produce the same amount of heat cos the voltage not increased or not?
    3) Can i push it further?
    4) Last week when i assembled this, the first two mem slots won't run over 333mhz while the third slot does. So shall i return the mobo? it will be a pin in the arse to remove everything that is why i am asking what will you do ?

Thats enough for now will be back later !
    Thanks

yea, thats decent, you should be able to push harder.. if you start getting crashing thats when its time to notch up the voltages.. but then you will be dealing with more heat.
point 4 is a known issue with the architechture.

I'm not a big overclocker so I can't help you that much but I do know that to push further you will need some faster RAM, Corsair XMS is good it seems.

Huh? My Corsair Value Select goes happily to 250FSB on my P4, or is it a completely different thing with AMD64?

IMHO, I think u can push it much further... I could easily get 10x250=2500MHz without raising vcore (thus 1.5V). Uppes it to 1.6 just gave me 50MHz more, but what the heck... That's pretty much my max, 2600MHz will give me Prime errors in about 20 minutes, even with RAM divider...

If ur RAM can't keep up, try running it on a divider. That way, u can just push ur CPU. Better to run CPU optimal than running CPU and RAM sub-optimal, rite?!

    I tried with ram @ 166, at 250FSB 3x htt, so CPU is 2250, Ram is ~ 410
But when i run at say 260 FSB with stock voltage prime errors within 5 minutes! raising vcore to 1.6 cures this but then i can't overclock past 260 without again raising v core. IS that max of my cpu ?

when i try to trun ram @230mhz 1t 2.5, 3, 3, 10. 2.8v memtest86+ errors within 2 minutes. Haven't tried it with 2.9? shall i ? will it make any difference? Can't really run cas 3 as it makes a huge diference when i am doing photo editing !

Well, I think that's about it for ur CPU. It's doing better than mine, mine can't pass p95 at 2600MHz even at 1.7VCore (failure after 4hours) !! Just to be certain, try an even lower multiplier for ur RAM, run Prime, and find ur CPU's max.

I've tried running my RAM up till 3.3V, be sure u have enough cooling for ur RAM though. Don't blame me if u fry them!!
