So I guess I can announce that I've now started my build. I ordered the RM650 PSU as it should last me ages and if it doesn't has a whopping 10 year warranty, that sold it to me. Super fast delivery from The Netherlands, it arrived today

One issue, unfortunately Amazon isn't selling the RAM you recommended anymore, think they'll pulled it because they can't get stock. Seems like Corsair can't get stock of their own RAM either haha. Any recommendations for another at around the same price point? below £75. It's still available in Black but it's
What I was going to order:
- Amazon (Temporarily out of stock but can still order)
£65
EDIT//
They do still have stock of the 3000MHz version instead of the 3200MHz. Only £4.50 more (£69.50), would that be a good option?

The 3000MHZ stuff is a lower binned version of the same RAM,so it might be possible to "overclock" it to 3200MHZ,although I tend to like overclocking RAM myself. It should work fine. This stuff is probably Hynix CJR so should work:

Having said Ebuyer are doing this 32GB 3200MHZ kit for £100:

It has a 50/50 chance of being Hynix CJR or Micron E-die. My 3600MHZ version of the kit was Hynix CJR but it seems to work out of the box fine with my Ryzen 7 3700X.
I remember you saying the E-die is good, I’m not sure what it is though haha. 50/50 doesn’t sound like great odds
As tempting as 32GB is, I think I’m going to be sensible and stick with the sweet spot of 16GB. I guess I can’t really go wrong with most brand RAM, and that £67 one sound decent

Tempted by this too, a bit risky tho:

This RAM seems to be highly rated online with Ryzen builds. Worth the extra few quid or better going for the Patriot RAM suggested above?

Still waiting for a reply back from Scan which I assume will come on Monday. The email suggests they may do an offer if I'm buying multiple parts. I also mentioned that the parts were cheaper on other sites, wonder if they'll price match them?. Also mentioned about the Hexus free delivery deal not working. So hoping to get a reply on all that and go from there.
Corsair RAM is by the far the worst to get for Ryzen CPUs,because it can be Hynix,Samsung or Micron, and it can be any of the dies they use. This is because they probably shift far more RAM than many other companies,so whatever is available they will put in their RAM kits.
Other companies seem to be somewhat less variable, even if there is variation in their kits. That Patriot kit so far exclusively seems to by Hynix CJR. That 32GB kit I linked to earlier is definitely either Hynix CJR or Micron E-die.
Ok that sorts it then, I’ll go for the Patriot one, plus it’s at a good price anyway
Hi guys. I've got the power supply and ordered the RAM and was just about to order the rest and noticed the MSI Mortar B550M board has dropped in price so not sure which board I should go for now?
MSI MAG B550M MORTAR Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
£114
MSI MAG B550M BAZOOKA Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
£120
I was going to buy the Bazooka, but from what I can see the Mortar seems to be almost the same as the Bazooka with a few extras? Unless there's some negatives I've missed?. Seems like the Mortar was £10 more but is now a little cheaper than the Bazooka

I can't see any downside to the Mortar.
Two of the rear USB ports are Gen2 rather than Gen1, including one of them being a Type-C port. Personally that would win it for me.
The 2.5GbE networking could be nice at some point, and from memory I think the audio chip is supposed to be better (not that I ever put the output through anything where I could hear the difference, but you might).
The second x16 slot is actually a x4 that can physically fit a x16 card, but x4 is actually quite handy as things like USB and networking speeds increase beyond what x1 can handle.
So the Mortar is a bargain and better in every single way with no negatives?
Therefore the better option?
Cast your votes now
This sounds good then
Definitely still compatible with everything?. Seems to be from what I can tell. My old graphics card etc
The only downside I can see is that it's from the website AWD-IT that I've never used or heard of. Might see if another website will price match to be fair
Ffs I'm sop stuck between the MSI B550M Bazooka, B550M Mortar, and the B550-A PRO . I have no idea which to go for and it's driving me insane. It's not easy trying to guess which one will last me 10 years. Plus all 3 are around the same price with only £10 difference.
I'm edging towards the Mortar though. Seems to be more for essentially the same price

IMHO the Mortar looks a better board than the Bazooka.
If you've not already seen these on YouTube, both Gamers Nexus and Hardware Unboxed round up the best (in their opinion) B550 boards. Both talk about the Mortar.
Gamers Nexus - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_FUe36jHaw
Hardware Unboxed - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSY9rDsQgd4 (might have already been posted by CAT-THE-FIFTH)
I wouldn't really worry about it too much, as long as its a good quality brand and perhaps not their base model, it will be fine unless you want to get into serious overclocking or something - all the ones you've suggested will be about as good as each other - just go with the Mortar if you're happy with it and perhaps watch the review videos linked
