How would you format 250GB?

I just have my new hard drive seagate 250gb and an external enclosure. I'm about to format it there is 232GB of space, but I can't decide how to format it.

One drive of 232
Two drives,
Three drives,

How would you do it?

This disk is just for storage will have film, music and photos on it. I'm not usually indecisive but I just can't make my mind up on this one.

If its just for storage I'd do 1 partition.

One big partition, since it's for data, that's the way i do it. Or 1 for film ~180G, one for music ~30, the rest photos, the size depends on what you got. The latter is a bit safer as you may only lost 1 of the 3

unless you know how much you need for the , i would just have one big one, but, mabe a small partition to back up important files, authough i would still recu u back up to cd/dvd incase of hdd falure etc.

100 NTFS
Storage

100 NTFS
Storage

20 NTFS
Mirror of my Ipod

12~remainder FAT32
Thought this might come in useful if I have to use any old machines without NTFS support

I'd have done something similar.

I personally hate having a disk partitioned as one drive myself. Having logical partitions helps me maintain a decent filing structure and allows me to maintain sensible blocks of storage.

I think as its just a storage drive, it is merely down to personal preference
