Nice! Makes my Fujitsu look broken, with its 80MB/s flatline. I know it's running at Ultra160 but maybe the cable's duff and it isn't running in Wide? Or maybe it's just an older design that runs at 80 internally?
Anyway, just noticed that write caching was off, so I've enabled that for a bit more speed.
At least my random access time is good.

Mine varied between 5.8 and 6.0 in multiple tests. Pretty decent.

My 2 HGSTs in RAID0 top out at 110MB/s which is pretty whacky, but 13.8ms access is ouch. I've had 85MB/s transfers from the raid to the SCSI though.

One thing that did surprise me is just how quiet it is. Compared to my old 15k and 10k disks it's so quiet it's incredible. FDB really seem to make a difference. Still a bit louder than my HGSTs but they are bordering on inaudible.

Is that through a PCI SCSI card? (With its 100-133MB/s bottleneck.)
Makes you wish PCI-X had filtered down to the home PC market, doesn't it?

Yeah it's an adaptec 19160 card. Nothing else on the PCI bus which helps a bit. I'd still rather see them release a PCI-e scsi card so I could have a bit more bandwidth.
