I think id rather go for the RBX actually, the whole point of this project was as much peformance for as low a price as possible. I can get the RBX for a few pounds cheaper and it might give me a tiny bit better cooling extra which doesnt hurt. Im good with fiddly tubing so i think ill be fine.

Im glad i didnt go for that RBX at over-clock, they have just reduced them at watercooling shop. A bargain at £22.33.

Except now that radiator has run out! Ill look for something else.

GL finding a rad. If you go for a heatercore measure it carefully as many are too wide for most cases (mine are 200mm wide).

I know a lot of people make there own res.. how are you planning to do it? mosltly what materials and where to get them in the UK?
I will be using one of these (1liter), goning to use 3/8" BSPP thread/nut fittings on the bottom for inlet/outlet...
My criticool res only holds ~500ml which isnt enough for mine, the pump just sucks in air at full speed (laing D4).

I havent thought about it yet, i dont see that its a big deal. My dad says he'd like to make one for me, so thats not a problem. (But once he used a pickle jar in his peltier water cooling setup for a ccd chip so ill have to keep an eye on him)

Whats the fascination with using plastic as opposed to aluminium or something?

My first res was a coffee jar..
Didnt work too well. Lid wasnt watertight which didnt really matter as it was always upright..
Barbs in the lid is a bad idea, should be in the bottom always (coffee jar = glass ), or it makes it a pita to fill.

Metals are expensive, only copper alloys should be used (not alu - if it is, it should be annodised/plated) or there could be corrosion.. copper/alloys are expensive..
Plastic is also see through in many cases.. so its ideal.

Well, plastics are easy to work with, i couldnt care less what it looks like. Ill have a think about what ill use. Would you use something like a silicone sealant where the barbs are attached to the reservoir?

Personally I am running res-less ATM but in the past I used a tupperware container (tall one for musslie I think - had a pouring flap) just make sure whatever U use U can turn it upsidedown when its got water in and it does pour out (drips are ok but its all about stopping hte comp getting soaked in transit etc)

So, ive ordered all my kit now as follows:
    £19.00 Hydor L30
£18.00 XSPC 120-D Radiator (heavy cosmetic damage, i had to email watercoolingshop specifically for it)
    £22.33 RBX
£ 2.49 Accelerator plate pack (on a whim, i hear the number 5 plate gives lower temps)
£ 7.40 2 x Evercool UltraSilent 120mm (£3.70 each, 40% off at tekheads, my dad was oredering from them anyway so i didnt have to pay postage)
£ 1.99 Total postage costs (i hate paying postage, well avoided i think youll agree)
£ 0.00 Reinforced silicone tubing (better than tygon in my opinion)
£ 0.00 Reservoir (ive not made this yet but i wont spend any money on it)

    Total cost: £71.21

Ill build it up and tell you my results as soon as i can fit it in around exams, i hope its going to be a decent system for a price im very happy with.
