    Back to Watercooling?

After spotting the new Lian Li / Koolance box im very tempted any opinions? only downside I can see is price, seems a tad expensive considering you get no blocks with it
Unless a Shuttle SN25 can take a R520 + FX57 then the Koolance could be my next case when I go back to a tower PC

If your going to watercool a big case is very helpfull..

Id definatly recommend the pc70 or similar sized case. I dont like the look of the new ones with all the pointless holes/mesh everywhere but lots of people seem to prefer them.

When I got my pc70 about 6 months ago (maybe longer) aria were cheapest by upto 20-50quid.. so have a look here

    Yes.

Water is good. Inside computers water is silly, but it looks cool.

Koolance is kinda expensive, but their review seems to be quite good though.

Is peltier cooling where you have those little ceramic slabs (i think) that get very hot on one side and very cold on the other, so you watercool them on the hot side?

Meh...water sucks. It's fun to play with but it sucks as a solution. It's much more expensive and high maintenance than air and in many cases it doesn't cool any better which sucks as a 24/7 solution. As an overclocking tool it sucks as well because DI, LN2 and phasechange will completely destroy watercooling for benchies.

Water is great to drink but sucks for use in computers unless you just can't figure out anything else to do with all of that free time.

    Kez,

I never said you can't put water on your hardware. I only said it doesn't accomplish anything that I consider valuable.

Ok...If you ABSOLUTELY MUST use ceramic slabs then water is a must also. Still I question the effectiveness of the whole solution. Just doesn't seem worth the trouble.

watercooling is very worth it , my pc is as silent as it gets , 1 fan an thats on the psu ! practically silent which i need

peltier cooling is less worth it because after purchaseing a decent custom watercooling kit to cool the pelt and then the cost of the peltier , the psu for the peltier and all the messing about you would be cheaper buying a vapochill and have much better performance at better temps for around the same money

Yeah pelts are a mugs game - phase is cheaper to run and about the same money.

Water is far superior to air for both performance and noise though - ignore Storm, he's just jealous.
