Still got my 2.4C P4 going strong @ 3Ghz, about to buy a new HSF for it actually. RAM and GFX upgrades are way higher on my list at the moment.
It all depends on what you are using it for.Originally Posted by RoGuE|SaBeR
I recently upgraded to a venice 3000+ as it just seemed the right time, good clocking cheap cores, mobo offered cheaply from someone i knew, how could i use.
The performance (difference) really depends on what you are playing/doing, however i certainly like my PC quite a bit cooler! Obviously it puts a lot more demand on your PSU too, before rails were overvolting ever so slightly now the 12v rail is about 11.8 constantly.

EDIT: How bizarre i was in exactly the same situation as rogue saber, and i thought well as i am going to upgrade sooner or later i might as well do it now whilst i have the time and before i go to uni

My best 3 computers are AMD 3500 winnie (specs in sig), 3.4ghz P4 and XP2400 (well, rivaled with P3 I guess).
The 3500 is faster than my 3.4ghz P4, which has 2gigs memory. AMD for life.

I'm still on a lowly XP1800+.
Bored of the old one, new one coming soon
I'm still using my 4200+, my 4400+ and my FX-55's but plan to upgrade like everyday!

I haven't am still running my XP2600.. But this is mainly due to no money!.. If I had the cash I would definately upgrade, as I am starting to notice it's just not as good as it use to be!..
Same here down to cash.

Its good that some of you are upgrade crazy - makes it cheaper for the rest of us Although im yet to see anyone who keeps blowing money on upgrading every 6 months to really prove that they need to
Yeah people who do that have too much money. You don't need to upgrade that much, cirtinaly not the entire system.

I haven't gone 64, and I don't plan to in the near future. I love my rig as it is, and I plan to keep it for another year at least.
Well if you build systems for a living you have to know what works well and what doesn't. I can not trust my business to review sites who all have their own agendas no matter how well meaning they are.Originally Posted by blueprint
For instance, if I didn't blow up the MSI Neo4 and torture the Asus A8N-E Deluxe I would not have know how much better the Asus is than the MSI.
