Im just wondering who voted mac
I'm wondering what other is? I didn't know Mac had less market share than "other".
P4 3.2C, 1gig Corsair PC4000 and an X800 XT PE here for me. Plenty for me at the moment...dones't do a lot more than browse the 'net and burn stuff at the mo anyway...
Apparently Transmeta must be doing better than we thought...perhaps encouraging people to "think different" wasn't such a hot idea?Originally Posted by StormPC
By this time next week i will be going back home to AMD after a short trip to Intel
Previous CPU - AMD Athlon XP 3200+
Current CPU - Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0Ghz@3.4Ghz 900FSB 1mb cache
CPU by next week - AMD 64 3200+ (Venice) I've heard good things about this CPU, hope they hold up
"Other" could easily be Sempron, K6, P-II/III, ect.

My current rig's got to last me the next 12 months (at least). But i'm running amd 64 more by luck than judgement. My work rig's a 3.6 P4 & does the business hansomely.
When I do upgrade, I prolly won't go SLi tho. If I cant play a new game at good framerates & quality with one card (& new cards are never cheap), I won't buy the game.... but then neither will the majority of mainstream punters.
Im on a AMD 64 3200 BUT I WANT MORE!!

3.0 P4 pressie on an ic-7 with 1gb of corsair stuff and a bfg 6800gt! Its quite nice. I like it. Also have a 12" powerbook.
Not around too often!
Still on my 2500+ @ 2.3Ghz.
I don't feel like upgrading yet, as the cost will be significant (new case, new mobo, new CPU, new RAM, new GFX card, new cooler). And my current PC is, for most intent and purpose adequate (I'd like a new GFX card, but I want to move onto PCI-E for the next one).
I might even hold back till the 2nd gen of the dual cores are released, just to see whats on the table then (not my style to get 1st gen stuff).
