You are running at 260x10 and you want to keep the memory as closr to 200MHz as possible. See if you have a 150MHz (CPU/13) or 133MHz (CPU/14) memory ratio.
I doubt loosening timings any further will be of much help.
If reducing the memory speed does not help, your cpu could very well be at it's limit.
One other thing. Have you reduced the HTT(LDT) multiplier? Stock is 5, at 260Mhz I would be using 3.
HTT is stock.
That could be the problem.
It failed again after i reduced the HTT to 3 and ran the ram at 200mhz....
what im doing right now is i have reset the bios back to defaults....so the cpu is stock and ram (well everything is how it was out of the box) and now im running prime to see if it fails. If it does fail then i have problem with the cpu or ram, right?
cheers all for the great response, i knew i could could count on you hexus boys!!
Yeah, if it fails at stock, chances are that the CPU, ram, or motherbaord is screwy.
if it passes stock fine, just bring things up a bit at a time. Or start at 250x10 and work your way down as it didnt seem super flaky at 260.
ok its been fine on stock!!
I have now reduced the clock speed to 2.5ghz. I have sneaky feeling that my ram is holding me back. I'll buy some corsair stuff, some of the low latency stuff from scan.
You should test the processor and the RAM seperately- if it is the processor then new RAM isn't going to help. Like I said, run the RAM really slow, like set to 133MHz in the bios, and then see if it's stable at 2.6GHz.
Have you tried raising the CPU core voltage to 1.6?

Hi all,
Todays update is as follows.........it ran for approx 11hrs 30 yesterday at 2.5 (250 x 10) on 1.512V without any problems! So thats good news. I tell you what i did..........
Reset all BIOS back to defaults and increased the CPU to the above settings. Left everything else as stock.
Now im pretty sure that my RAM is holding me back, so for the moment im happy sitting at 2.5......(errrrr no im not, what was i thinking!!!) I'll be going home tonight and i'll try 237 X 11 and failing that i'll work down.
I reckon i need,

and a XP-120 heatsink cooler!
On the Asus mobo the max is 1.575vOriginally Posted by joshwa
Morning all,
I have been running prime with the below settings
255 x 10 @ 1.512 Volts
It went for 12 hrs without a crash and i have now increased it to 257 X 10 @ 1.512
We'll see how it goes.....
