I wouldn't call it SLi, iirc nVidia have trademarked SLi as the abbreviation (not Scaleable Link Interface) just the lettering.

    ATi have crossfire.

And since they have now got Crossfire Compatible card around I wouldn't mind seeing the performance comparissons. See if ATis press was right.

I wouldn't mind paying £150 for a mobo, as long as it is a good'un./

reading the reviews yea.. buying that mobo at the current price?... maybe when ATi decides to nuke Nvidia's production facility till kingdom come...other than that, I can't imagine myself spending 150 quid for a mobo...

How can they trademark SLI as an abbreviation?? 3dfx first used it - and it can stand for many things!!

Does this mean we will be having SLI on a P4 motherboard soon?

well, you can't buy a Crossfire (ATi) board & go SLI (2xnVidia cards running as 1) afaik although the end result is similar which is what I was pointing out - incorrect terminology.

Aahh... Crossfire... how I do love thee... Or at least, hopefully will be loving crossfire if all works as well as it should- but yeah, while I hold a lot of respect for DFI lanparty boards, I would have to second waiting until some other CF ready mobos come out and get some nice juicy review comparisons etc (presuming of course that crossfire is worth the wait and more cost effective and simple than SLi as everyone, myself included, seem to be hoping)...

btw, are there any other CF mobos out that people know of (other than DFI Lanparty and Sapphire PURE)?

What he meant was no one would spend that much money on a pc and not buy nvidia cards, since they are so far superior to anything ATi has at the mo.

But ATI will be bringing out the r520 core soon which will be at the same performance as the 7800 series at the same time as they release the crossfire boards.

Anyway it is only a matter of time before someone mods nf4 sli to take crossfire and vice versa.

This mobo looks really cool iirc - It has like a massive ATi logo on the back, so anyone with a plexi case can really benifit from that
