hi , i have ordered a samsung spinPoint P120S 200GB SATA2 hard drive for my new pc set up, this is the first time i will be using a sata hd and was just wonderin does the setup of the sata hd differ from a normal ide hd? or is it the same do you just plug it in and install windows format the drive and that is that? thx ..
Yes, it's generally the same, assuming your chipset has native Sata support. Which is probably will!
Some boards have BIOS settings for SATA but generally these can be left at defaults with no problem.
If not you will need to press F6 and get a floppy with raid drivers, and setup a RAID device, but check your manual - you probably wont have to.
