Luckily, you won't have to throw the baby out with the bathwater, because PCIe II will be compatible with PCIe 1.x, using the same power budget and the same clocking architecture

Also - notice the lack of PCI Express devices in the first place???

I'm on my third PCI-E board.

Anyway, same thing happend with AGP. AGP 2x was out not long after AGP 1x. A bit later 4x (2.0) was out.

Technology progresses. If you are waithing for it to slow down before you adopt/upgrade, you never will.
