My Samsung LCD was £1,100 about 5 months ago. I didn't know they had dropped in price that much!
Not really, it's our first place so funds were limited at the start as we had to buy everything. Sometimes he does feel like I'm sitting in an Ikea showroom but it's all good.i bet all that ikea stuff cost a bomb
It looks a brilliant room to be in though, regardless of who makes the furniture

New MacBook arrived on Monday, time for some new shots of my uni room - it's not as pretty as it used to be, but it's far more practical with the gear switched round (right->left & vice-versa).
MacBook on the left (1.83GHz C2D, 1GB), Win2kPro workstation on the right (XP-M 2400+, 512MB, 5900) connected to dual 15" LG Flatrons, a Saitek Eclipse & a Razer Krait, & a headless Win2kPro ICS box on the floor (750MHz Athlon) plugged into the little black 5-port switch. Black Logitech speakers are plugged into the workstation & really only get used for a but of NWN every now & then.
Shuttle is my Linux media machine (XP1700+, 512MB) with an external hard drive on top (320GB Barracuda 7200.10) plugged in to the 17" CRT (left) with the Dremacast plugged into the 14" CRT (right). Printer on the floor is a HP LJ 4 M Plus, speakers are Sony yellowcones from a couple years back. Silver boxes contain optical disks, bottom for CDs, top for DVDs. Couple of blank CDs, DVDs & MD (in pwitty colours), spare toner cartridge, DC games.
Aurex SB-A10 amplifiers (top connected to the yellowcones, bottom waiting for a new set of speakers), Sansui tuner (good ol' Radio 4). Shuttle plugs into the top amp obviously.
Wow, you have a mental amount of computers in such a small space!
How can a student have all that stuff? mehhh
I haven't had the heating on since I got here in September.Wow, you have a mental amount of computers in such a small space!
Well you've got to consider how old the stuff is; my workstation is at least 3 years old, media machine another year on top of that, both CRTs were free, printer was £10.58 on ebay (best £10.58 I ever spent!). It may look like a lot, well it is a lot, but by current measures it's mostly out-of-date, apart from the MacBook which I had to buy out of my savings because my ThinkPad died & I can't get by without a laptop. I don't tend to throw out old hardware when I upgrade, so I tend to amass rather a bit - I've got an old 500MHz K6-2 box under the bed, heaven knows what I'm going to do with it...How can a student have all that stuff? mehhh
tbh
